The Emission Isolation Flux Chamber manufactured by St. Croix
Sensory is designed following EPA recommended parameters.
The chamber is set on a solid surface or floated onto a liquid
surface. A clean, odor-free carrier gas (i.e. "zero air"
or nitrogen) is metered into the flux chamber at a known flow
rate (i.e. 5 LPM). This flow is known as the "sweep air,"
After an equilibration period of three to four residence times,
a sample is withdrawn from the flux chamber at a flow rate
less than the sweep airflow rate. A vacuum case, such as the
VAC'SCENT Vacuum Chamber, is used to collect the air
sample.
